Anouk Jansen
Past
During my studies I aimed to develop myself in a broad context; explore my creativity. With fellowstudents I developed, produced, and performed a musical theatre piece for the theater festival Oerol. That was definitely a highlight! Other than that I did my internship with an event-/artist office, completed a minor in journalism during which I fell in love with radio, and especially during the last two years I worked on my own music. Besides that I performed gigs as a background singer in a lot of different kind of bands and projects throughout my education.
Present
I currently live in Berlin, where I’m doing my graduation research. During previous projects I’ve learned things about events, production, journalism, etc. but I wanted to go back to why I had gone to the Academy: develop and explore my creative self. That’s why my graduation project is doing research about what happens to a creative person (me) when they immerse themselves in a hyper-creative place (Berlin). I’m also building a relevant network for my music and future after the Academy.
Future
I’m not someone who could do the same thing five days a week; I am interested in too many different things and my train of thought is too restless for that. I’d prefer to do a combination of radio, singing, organizing, writing and making music. Most importantly; I don’t want to get used to or bored with what I do. The beautiful and at the same time uncertain thing about this business is that you work on temporary projects but that’s also exactly what makes it so challenging and diverse!
